Despite the acceptance of gluteal augmentation procedures into today's mainstream of plastic surgery procedures, clinical anatomy continues to play a critical role in improving outcomes in aesthetic gluteal contouring. In this rapidly growing and evolving field, avoiding complications is imperative for the continuing advancement and acceptance of this group of procedures into the armamentarium of every plastic surgeon.
