Dermoid cyst of the submandibular gland: case report

Dermoid cysts are subcutaneous, of ectodermal origin, and are found along the lines of embryonic fusion. They may be congenital or acquired, and occur predominantly in the testes and ovaries. Only 7% affect the head and neck, usually in the orbital area.1 We describe a rare example of a dermoid cyst in the right submandibular gland.
